This essay analyses the strike by workers in essential services of 17 November, 2023, which has a particular legal relevance, in addition to its political and media importance. It evokes a variety of points of interest related to its problematic configuration: as a "general strike" for the trade union confederations who proclaimed it, and as a "multi-sector strike" for the Guarantee Commission. This difference is crucial with a view to the legitimacy of this collective action of self defence.
