The main argument supported by the Author is the declaration of the crisis, considered now irreversible, of liberal labor law, with respect to which, however, a credible alternative is not yet proposed. The argument is supported by an analysis of both legislative trends and trade union dynamics. Finally, the Author reflects on the foundation of the primacy of work as a value in an era in which the working classes, in their majority, are no longer the main characters of a progressive plot, following instead the sirens of populisms, even the ones with reactionary vocation.
