The law n. 92/2012, within the reform of the labor market, fixes  new rules on layoffs,  and also introduces  a new trial for the related controversies, configuring a special procedure.
The essay analyses  the aims of this legislative intervention, examines analytically  the rules of the new special procedure and  reflects on its structural  characteristics and on implications for the Italian trial system.
