L’eterno ritorno della partecipazione: il coinvolgimento dei lavoratori al tempo delle nuove regole sindacali

WP C.S.D.L.E. “Massimo D’Antona”.IT – 219/2014

Di prossima pubblicazione su Diritti lavori mercati, 2014, n. 2.

The paper offers a broad analysis of the recent draft laws presented in Parliament and in the academic debate  in the field of employee participation.
After some clarifications regarding the notions of “workers’ participation”, “employee involvement”, “codetermination”, the paper examines the future perspectives of legislative action in the framework of the recent debates concerning plant level representation and collective bargaining.
The paper  supports the approach of the bills that would regulate a “continuum” of participatory schemes, overcoming traditional distinctions such as, for example, those differentiating between employee’s participation in decision making from financial participation. The aim should be ensuring participation schemes – especially financial  participation schemes – generate genuine employee involvement mechanisms, so as to generate virtuous models of industrial relations at enterprise level.
